Caxton Youth Organisation is a Westminster-based charity supporting learning disabled and autistic young people aged 11–25. The wonderful team at Caxton asked us to redesign and refresh their website following a rebrand, with the aim of creating a digital experience that reflects the warmth, safety and energy of the organisation.
As with many websites that have evolved over time, the site architecture, usability and functionality had become more difficult to navigate. A key part of our discovery phase was understanding the different audiences using the site and reviewing their journeys to ensure information could be found quickly and intuitively.
Our approach focused first on refining the customer journey and information architecture before moving into the design phase. Accessibility was a priority throughout, with best practice applied at every stage to create a website that is inclusive and easy to use for all visitors.
The result is a clean, welcoming and easy-to-navigate website featuring accessible typography, strong colour contrast and clearly structured content. Key user journeys – including learning about services, joining the organisation, making referrals and donating – were simplified to remove barriers and help families, professionals and supporters quickly find the information they need.
The finished website puts users first while bringing the refreshed Caxton Youth brand to life online. It is a modern, inclusive digital space that reflects the organisation's values and personality, while helping extend its reach and support even more young people across the community.
