As we all know, there has been a huge demand for foster carers for some time, a situation which COVID-19 has exacerbated.
Ofsted has just published their annual report - 'Fostering in England 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022'. As always, with these reports, there is good and bad news for local authorities (LAs) (including LA-owned organisations).
The most prominent thing to note is, that there has been a downward trend in the number of applications for mainstream fostering over the last 5 years. In both sectors, a relatively large number of enquiries are not translating into applications.
Our goal is for every council in the country to significantly increase their cohort of foster carers, and reduce their spend-per-approval. We have developed a range of resources and services within our foster carer recruitment hub to help councils to achieve this, including:
With our campaigns, we have generated on average 27 applications from every 100 enquiries, whereas other campaigns generated on average 13 applications from every 100 enquiries. That means our campaigns perform 14% better! *Please note, The foster carer recruitment hub is only available to councils and councils-owned services*.
There are much more to see!
We are not only focused on assisting you with campaigns but also on conveying important information and upskilling you and your team. Take a look at our foster care blogs:
