Westco is delighted to partner with Decoded to offer this Free Gen AI Taster Session for the Public Sector. 

Get ahead of the game in communications, behaviour change, and policy by becoming a Generative AI Champion.

This one-hour session introduces GenAI as a transformative technology that is reshaping how we work across the communications industry and beyond.

Through hands-on demonstrations, it challenges traditional approaches to data and process management. It inspires participants to see themselves as future GenAI
Champions, sparking curiosity, shifting mindsets, and building confidence in engaging with GenAI tools.

The taster session provides a glimpse into the GenAI Champion Level 3 Apprenticeship, integrated and applied learning offered by Decoded, which can be carried out as part of your day job. Attendees will come away with a clear sense of whether this pioneering programme is the right next step to help people get ahead of the game on AI.

Session Outline:  

1. Introduction (5 minutes)
○ Welcome and brief overview of the GenAI technology and the opportunity to become a GenAI Champion through the GenAI Apprenticeship.
○ Highlight the potential impact GenAI has across communications and the wider public-sector.

2. Live Demonstration: ChatGPT in Action (15 minutes)
○ Tool Walkthrough: Present GenAI tools (such as Co-Pilot and ChatGPT) with a focus on their practical application—secure data processing, automated insights, and low-code integration.
○ Real-World Scenario: Demonstrate a scenario where GenAI tools are used to reimagine a traditional workflow. For example, show how a routine data summarisation task is transformed into an insightful analysis with AI assistance.

3. Rethinking Work & Becoming a GenAI Champion (25 minutes)
○ Menti Poll - Discussion: Lead a short conversation on how GenAI tools are changing the way work is done—moving from manual, time-consuming processes to intelligent, secure, and automated workflows.
○ The Role of a GenAI Champion: Describe what it means to be a GenAI
Champion in today’s digital landscape. Explain that champions lead innovation, encourage ethical AI practices, and drive transformation by leveraging secure, advanced AI solutions.
○ Inspiration: Share current Public Sector-related success stories or visionary examples where early adopters have redefined their roles and significantly impacted their organisations.

4. Interactive Q&A and Next Steps (10 minutes)
○ Open the floor for questions and discussion.
○ Allow time for further discussion on how GenAI can be applied in the communications industry, including its use for data insights, comms planning, audience segmentation and more.
○ Provide clear guidance on how to apply for the Generative AI Apprenticeship.
○ Encourage participants to reflect on how they can be catalysts for Generative AI change and apply to the programme.
